Bernard Whimpress was born in 1948 and is a historian and
author in the area of sports history, with a particular interest in cricket.
A
graduate of Flinders University in Adelaide, he has previously been the curator
at the Adelaide Oval Museum, as well as published and edited for the journal of
Australian Cricket History, ‘Baggy Green’. Whimpress won the History
Council of South Australia's Life-Long History Achievement Award in 2017 and is
recognised the leading sports historian in South Australia.
